An Introduction to NFTs with Artist Edgar Fabián Frías
Online Talk / Wed, December 15, 2021 / 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST
Join artist Edgar Fabián Frías to explore the connective, joyful, and perhaps even reparative, potential of NFTs
The year 2021 has been punctuated by non-fungible tokens entering shared culture and the art market. Even as some dismiss NFTs as the latest trend of hypercapitalism, many artists, especially those who have been historically marginalized, are finding generative potential in non-fungible tokens, or non-interchangeable units of data that are stored on a digital ledger.
Artist Edgar Fabián Frías offers one possible way to approach NFTs that is both focused on community building and deeply rooted in queer and indigenous identity.
